The International Association of Cigar Sommeliers (IACS) in early 2000 Yamir Pelegrino, President of the Cuban club of Sommeliers and Habanos S.A. developed the standards of Cigar service and pairing, creating the Habanos Sommelier Contest and Education, some years after Yamir left Cuba and partner with a team of Education Experts and develop what our Cigar Sommelier program is today.

For over a decade, the IACS has been at the forefront of cigar education, earning international recognition as the premier institution in the field. Today, we’re proud to announce that our community spans over 1000 students across all five continents! Our esteemed graduates hold prominent positions in both the hospitality sector and the cigar industry, serving as Cigar Sommeliers, F&B Directors, Master Blenders, Cigar Factory Managers, and Brand Ambassadors. Their expertise and dedication reflect the rigorous training and comprehensive education provided by the IACS.
